Discovering Estonia – Tallinn

My adventure in Estonia started with an invitation from Visit Estonia to fly there and to see by my own eye and experience the winter in Estonia. I must say, I instantly felt really excited, cause I was pretty sure I was gonna see some snow!! We planned a trip of 4 days / 3 nights, with a lot of different experiences but mainly food and snow ahah

We landed close to 3pm that was almost night there. We also met my dear friend @katrikats on her departure to Sri Lanka. We got a quick taxi to our beautiful apartment that was INSANE. A very beautiful apartment really close to Old Town Tallinn, with a panoramic view over the avenue, a park and some historical building and a cathedral. Knowing that we would spend the next few days there made my heart so happy!! We immediately decided to go down and walk to Old Tallin cause I was so excited to see the Xmas Market. It’s one of the must sees in Tallinn during winter and it’s absolutely delightful! You’ll see food, and a lot of Glogi cabanas, where you can try the hot wine!! So good! I cna actually say it really helps when the weather is so cold! After that we had a quick dinner at Vapiano and went home cause we were so tired and we wanted to wake up fresh for a second day!

We planned a lot for this day! And it was snowing! We decided to wake up ver early and head to Alexander Nevsky Cathedral that is also a must see when it comes to Historical monuments. After that we went to Kohtuotsa Vaateplatvorm to have a better view of Old Town from above. They have a lot of these, so it’s a just a matter of search a few to find which one you will like to see! We walked down again and went to this beautiful and very cozy restaurant called Contravento. We ordered some starters and some pasta cause they looked delicious! After our meal we strolle around town a little bit more to find one of the corners I really wanted to see – The Master’s Courtyard, where you could find some shops and a beautiful cafe called – Chocolats de Pierre.

After that we picked up our car in the apartment garage, cause we wanted to to a place a little bit more far from town – Kadriorg. We walked on the park, watched the snow fall and the Kadriorg Palace, which had amazing colors! We were so hungry by that time again that we had to run to the apartment to change and go to our next dinner. This was definately one of my favorites from the whole trip – Olde Hansa. It was a medieval experience and it was absolutely amazing! It felt like I was on a movie really and the food and driks were delicious. I highly recommend to go there and experience the whole thing!!

When we finished our dinner it was time for another stroll to the Xmas Market – I was obssessed and wanted to be there every single night! It was so charming and the Xmas songs made me so happy! Perfect way to finish the big first day in Tallinn. Can’t wait to show you the next ones xx
