Discovering Morocco | Part II, Riad and 3 must see places in Marrakech

Second day in Marrakech and for me it was all about getting to know some of the iconic places and walking around (a lot!) in the streets to see the markets. We spent the morning in our Riad enjoying the breakfast and also shooting some stuff for the hotel. The rooms, terraces and spaces were so cozy and beautiful, I was super happy with it! After that we decided it was time to visit our three top picks to visit in Marrakech – Le Jardin Secret, Le Jardin Majorelle and Ben Youssef.

Le Jardin Secret was pretty close to our Riad so we did walk there. The garden was a work of art really, all of the architecture was beautiful and the garden was super well cared. The flowers, the trees, the cactus, oh I loved them! we did spend a lot of time there as we also stopped in their restaurant to have lunch and regain energy (it was super hot that day!). The food was pretty delicious and the price was also very good! Not too expensive! After lunch we called a taxi and head to Jardin Majorelle.

When we got to Majorelle it was super busy, a big line to wait to get in but I think it was pretty worth it. You also have museum, galleries, restaurant and a memorial, attatched to this garden so you can have separate tickets or full ticket to see everything! The YSL museum is right next to it! I only did the garden cause I still wanted to have time to visit Ben Youssef. Majorelle was pretty magical, the garden and its species of plants are incredible! It’s really cactus heaven there!

We got to Ben Youssef at sunset time. It was incredible! The building used to be a school and it’s one of the most important architectonic elements of Marrakech now. I was pretty overwhelmed with the size of it and of course it’s decorative elements. The shapes, the tiles, the colors, I was pretty happy I got to see such a place! We went back to our Riad, we had dinner with some friends and after that it was time to relax and sleep cause next day it was time for our tour to the desert.
